Portland Sea Dogs News Release

Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, will team up to host a New Hampshire vs. Maine Senior All-Star Game. The inaugural game will be played on June 26, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Merchantsauto.com Stadium, home of the Fisher Cats. Next year the game will be played at Hadlock Field, home of the Sea Dogs, and it will alternate sites each year thereafter.

The game will pit the best high school senior players in New Hampshire against the best high school senior players from Maine. Players on both teams are nominated and voted on by coaches throughout each state. The Fisher Cats and Sea Dogs will add to the excitement as the losing team will offer the winning team tickets for an outing at a game in the winning team's home ballpark.

The game was the idea of Mike Coutts, owner of Frozen Ropes Training Center in Maine and Tom Underwood and B.J. Neverett of the New Hampshire Baseball Coaches Association. The game will be sponsored by ProNine Sports, who will donate baseballs for the game, as well as Frozen Ropes Training Center and the Coaches Associations of Maine and New Hampshire.

"We're excited to show Maine that New Hampshire has the best high school ballplayers in New England," said Shawn Smith, President & General Manager of the Fisher Cats. "We expect New Hampshire to give it their all and get a win just like the Fisher Cats do when taking on the Sea Dogs."

"This event will be a real treat for fans in Maine and New Hampshire to see the top high school talent each state has to offer," said Sea Dogs General Manager Charlie Eshbach.

For more information about the event, contact Mike Coutts at the Frozen Ropes Training Center at (207) 878-2600 or at mcoutts@maine.rr.com.
