
Fisher Cats sweep SeaWolves

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Manchester, NH -Adam Lind's sacrifice fly to deep left field in the bottom of the sixth inning scored Carlo Cota, giving the New Hampshire Fisher Cats a 1-0 win over the Erie SeaWolves and a doubleheader sweep Thursday night at MerchantsAuto.com Stadium. David Smith went 2-for-2 with a home run, a double and two RBIs to lead the Fishers' 5-1 game one victory.
Left-hander Kurt Isenberg (2-6) pitched six shutout innings to record his first home win of the year for New Hampshire (26-31). Isenberg scattered four hits, walked two and struck out five. Jim Bullard retired one batter to notch his second save. The Fisher Cats won only mustering two hits off Lance Davis (0-2), who struck out four and did not walk a batter in his debut for Erie (28-31).
In game one, Kyle Yates (2-5) allowed just one run on four hits in six innings. He allowed only one hit after the first inning, striking out five and not walking a batter. Ron Davenport snapped an 0-for-32 skid to start the season by lacing a run-scoring double off Erie starter Nate Bumstead (4-6). Manny Mayorson (3-for-4, 2 RBI) blooped a two-out, two run single off Chris Homer in the bottom of the sixth inning.
The Fisher Cats continue their homestand by welcoming the Southern Division-leading Altoona Curve to MerchantsAuto.com Stadium for three games this weekend. New Hampshire sends left-hander Davis Romero (6-4, 2.93) against Curve lefty Shane Youman (2-2, 1.62). The game begins at 6:35pm and radio coverage starts at 6:25pm on www.nhfishercats.com.
