Coming off a 7-2 loss to the Black Bears on Thursday, the Scrappers took the second game 6-1 at Monongalia County Ballpark on Friday night.
Nate Winfrey led off the top of the second with his seventh double of the season. Austin Fisher hit his fifth double of the season down the right field line to score Winfrey.
Gabriel Mejia had a night to remember after going 4-for-4. He doubled in the second to score Fisher.
Brock Hartson allowed one unearned run, which came in the bottom of the second. Albert Baur reached on an error by Hartson, and he went to second on the error. He advanced to third on a passed ball charged to Daniel Salters, and then he scored on a sacrifice fly from Casey Hughston.
In the seventh and with two runners on, Mark Mathias lined a single opposite field to right to score Fisher and Mejia. In the ninth, Ka'ai Tom extended his hit streak to 11 games with a double to left to score Mejia. Mathias singled to right again to score Tom.
Hartson did not earn a decision in his third start this season. He pitched four innings of two-hit baseball without allowing an earned run or walk. He struck out a season-high five batters.
Matt Esparza earned his third win of the season after tossing four and two-thirds scoreless innings and striking out five.
Dario Agrazal earned his fifth loss this season after allowing two runs on four hits in five innings.
The Scrappers send lefty Sam Hentges to the hill on Saturday night in the rubber game. Hentges was just called up from the Arizona League. He was 3-3 with a 3.10 ERA in 49.1 innings this season. He only walked 19 and struck out 59.
