Scott's Career Night Leads Vipers Past Jam

BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA - Rio Grande Valley Vipers forward Ernest Scott scored a career-high 29 points on a career-best 9-of-15 shooting from behind the arc in a 124-106 win over the Bakersfield Jam tonight at the Jam Events Center.

Overall, the Vipers (27-10) hit 16-of-28 (57.1%) three-point shots.

The Vipers got off to a hot start, hitting five-of-seven three-point shots and outscoring the Jam (10-28) 40-24 in the first quarter.

The Jam, however, opened the second quarter on a 17-4 run to get within 44-41 with 5:41 left in the quarter. The Vipers hit five of their next six shots, including two three-pointers, to take a 56-46 lead with 2:55 left in the quarter.

Scott hit a pair of three-pointers Craig Winder hit one and Julian Sensley drained a lay-up as the Vipers opened the third quarter on an 11-3 run to take a 75-56 lead in the opening 2:22.

Kenny Hasbrouck finished with a career-high eight assists to go with 19 points while third-year Viper Stanley Asumnu had his best game of the season, with 20 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. Sensley finished with 13 points and nine rebounds in his return from injury.

The Jam were led by adidas Player of the Game Brian Butch, who had 19 points and 15 rebounds and Jeremy Wise, who had 16 points and 11 assists

The Vipers complete the season-series with the Jam tomorrow at 9:00 p.m. at the Jam Events Center.
