New Mexico Thunderbirds News Release

ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Antoine Agudio and Keith McLeod combined to score 66 points for Albuquerque, but the Thunderbirds couldn't slow down the Idaho Stampede and dropped their sixth straight game on Friday night, losing 126-113.

McLeod led the way for the T-Birds with 36 points, shooting 8-16 from the field and 15-25 from the free throw line. His 25 free throw attempts are a franchise record and the most attempted by a single player in the NBA D-League this season. He also added a game high 9 assists.

Agudio added 30 points, shooting 11-17 from the field to notch his third thirty point game of the season. He connected on 6 of 10 from beyond the three point line and also added 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

Marcus Hubbard and Tony Danridge each scored 15 points for Albuquerque, while Sasha Cuic chipped in with 9.

Coby Karl led the way for Idaho with 25 points. Andre Barrett added 22 and Donell Taylor scored 21 for the Stampede.

Albuquerque led 20-14 at the midway point in the first quarter, and the teams battled back and forth through much of the first half, with the T-Birds ultimately trailing 61-53 at the break.

Albuquerque cut the lead to three in the fourth quarter (95-92), but that was as close as it got down the stretch. Idaho went on to outscore the T-Birds 31-21 over the next 8:38 to ultimately pull away for the 13 point win.

Albuquerque shot 44.6% from the field for the game, while Idaho shot 50.0%. Idaho outrebounded the T-Birds 54-39, contributing largely to a 62-36 advantage on points in the paint.

The team was without Kurt Looby, who was traded to the Main Red Claws earlier in the day in exchange for Trey Gilder.

The team will be in action again tomorrow night when they once again host the Stampede. Call 505-265-3865 for more information on how to bring your group out to the game for as low as $4 per person.
