Barron Leads Iowa in Win Over Erie

Erie, Pennsylvania - The Iowa Energy claimed yet another victory over the Erie BayHawks in a 116-111 win on Friday night at the Tullio Arena.
Earl Barron led the charge for the Energy pouring in 35 points and grabbing 24 rebounds. The win improves Iowa to 31-9 overall, including 9-0 against the BayHawks this season and four of the wins coming in Erie's building.
Iowa jumped out to a 16-point first quarter lead getting an early 11 points and 5 rebounds from Barron. Erie stormed back over the next two quarters and led by as many as eight with 7:28 to play in the game. But the Energy responded by outscoring the BayHawks 24-11 the rest of the way with guard Mark Tyndale netting 5 of Iowa's final 8 points.
Jeff Trepagnier added 22 points and Pat Carroll and Tyndale each chipped in 17 for the first place team in the Eastern Conference.
Erie was led by Cedric Jackson's double-double of 30 points and 11 rebounds, with Mike Gansey and John Bryant adding 24 points each.
The BayHawks and Energy round out their 10-game season series Saturday night at the Tullio Arena with game time set for 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the Tullio Arena box office or at ticketmaster.com.
