Scorpions Fall In OKC

[OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.]-In their first game in Oklahoma City in over two years, the Scorpions fell 4-1 on Saturday night. The loss dropped the Scorps to 4-5-1 on the season.

Oklahoma City got on the board first when DJ Jelitto tipped in a shot. Scorpions' goaltender Jason Wolfe kept his team in the game making 14 saves in the game's first 20 minutes.

The Blazers extended their lead with two goals early in the second period. Brian Passmore scored at the 1:23 mark and Simon Lambert made it a 3-0 game with a breakaway goal.

New Mexico lit the lamp when John Mazzei tipped in a Torren Delforte shot. It was the first professional goal for Mazzei.

The final frame was quiet. Passmore picked up his second goal of the night in the opening two minutes to give his team back a three-goal lead.

The Scorpions finish up the three-game road trip with a Tuesday night game in Arizona starting at 7:05 p.m. The game can heard on 610 The Sports Animal or seen for free on the CHL Network.

New Mexico returns home on Friday, November 14th to celebrate Stanley's 7th birthday. Come out for a night of all your favorite area mascots when the Scorpions host Rocky Mountain starting at 7:15 p.m.

Special jerseys will be worn and auctioned off live after the game. The auction will benefit the ALS Association of New Mexico and the Rob Guinn Foundation.
