February 19, 2007 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned center BRAD SCHELL from the Chicago Wolves to the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators.

The 22-year-old forward posted an American Hockey League career-high two points (G, A) in Sunday's 8-0 win over Houston. Last year, SCHELL netted three points (G, 2A) in 10 outings with Chicago during his AHL debut.

SCHELL currently leads the ECHL with a career-high 74 assists and a career-best 95 points - 20 more than the next closet player in the league - in 49 games this season. He has registered multiple points in 32 of those contests, which includes 15 outings with three or more. His 74 assists and 95 points are both Gwinnett franchise records.

The Scott, Saskatchewan, native recorded a goal in the 2007 ECHL All-Star Game last month while serving as the team captain for the American Conference. He was named the ECHL Player of the Month for December after leading the league with 22 assists and 30 points that month.

The Thrashers' sixth pick, 167th overall, in the 2002 National Hockey League Entry Draft, SCHELL has racked up 227 points (58G, 169A) in 180 ECHL games with the Gladiators over the past three years. Last year, he helped Gwinnett reach the Kelly Cup Finals with 12 assists and 13 points in 17 postseason tilts.
