'Dogs look to extend point streak to 13 games tonight

The Hamilton Bulldogs (American Hockey League affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) head into a busy week with three of four games scheduled to take place on the road. The Bulldogs will look to extend their 12-game point streak tonight (Monday, February 19th) at the Onondaga War Memorial at Oncenter in Syracuse, when they take on the Crunch (AHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets) at 7:00 p.m. The two teams will meet again in a rematch at Copps Coliseum on Friday, February 23rd at 7:30 p.m. Hamilton will then travel to Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids to take on the Griffins (AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings) in its first and second contests of a nine-game road trip. On Saturday, February 24th, the 'Dogs and Griffs will square off at 7:00 p.m., followed by an afternoon tilt at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 25th.

Hamilton posted a 2-0-0-0 record in two games last week. The Bulldogs came from behind to win 5-4 in a shootout against their QEW rivals, the Toronto Marlies, on Friday, February 16th at Copps Coliseum in front of 7,647 fans. Then on Sunday, February 18th, the 'Dogs came away with a 5-2 triumph over the Bears at the Giant Centre in Hershey. The win over Hershey on Sunday extended Hamilton's point streak to 12 games (10-0-1-1).

With 70 points in 55 games this season, the Bulldogs hold a record of 33-18-2-2 and currently sit in second place in the North Division standings, three points behind the division-leading Rochester Americans (73 points in 54 games).

- C Corey Locke has eight points (3-5-8), a plus-3 rating and two penalty minutes in his last three games

- RW Andrei Kostitsyn is currently on a 10-game point streak (Jan. 20th - Feb. 18th) with 18 points (8-10-18) in that span. He also has a team-leading plus-23 rating, which is 4th best in the AHL

- C Kyle Chipchura registered a six-game point streak (Feb. 3rd - 16th) with eight points (3-5-8), a plus-3 rating and seven penalty minutes in that span

- Last night (Feb. 18th), D Dan Jancevski had two points (1-1-2) and was a plus-1 to raise his rating to plus-18 on the season, good enough for a 10th place tie among AHL leaders

- RW Duncan Milroy was recalled for the first time in his career on Saturday, February 17th and was held scoreless with an even rating in two games with the Canadiens on the weekend. At the time of his recall, Milroy was the Bulldogs leading scorer and 18th among the AHL's best with 52 points (23-29-52)

- G Jaroslav Halak was also recalled by the Canadiens on Thursday, February 15th for the first time in his career, and recorded a win in his first-career NHL start by stopping 31 of the 33 shots he faced in a 3-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday, February 18th

- RW Duncan Milroy, D Jean-Philippe Cote, and G Yann Danis were honoured in a pre-game ceremony on Friday, February 16th for becoming the Franchise's all-time games played leaders at their respective positions
