Lethbridge Hurricanes News Release
Lethbridge, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes will be restocking their arsenal with a pair of young guns making their return to the lineup Friday evening. Colton Sceviour practiced today with the team after returning from Dallas Stars camp, while Dwight King is expected to return to the 'Bridge City' this evening. Both are expected to be in the line up for Friday's key divisional matchup with the Medicine Hat Tigers. Sceviour had a strong showing with the Dallas Stars prospects at the Traverse City prospects tournament which earned him an invite to Stars main camp. King, played well enough at the L.A. Kings prospect tournament in Phoenix to garner a look at L.A. Kings main camp this past week. Sceviour (33G, 31A) and King (34G, 35A) were two of the four Hurricanes to tally 30+ goals last season. They will give a much needed boost to what has been a depleted lineup thus far this season.
In total, the Canes have had four of their seven current players who were invited to pro camps returned. Mitch Fadden has been reassigned to AHL training camp in Norfolk by the Tampa Bay Lightning while Luca Sbisa (Philadelphia) and Zach Boychuk (Carolina) currently remain with their respective NHL preseason camps.
Storm Watch - News and Notes
- Mitch Fadden will see some familiar faces in Norfolk's training camp as he will be skating alongside former Canes Rob Klinkhammer and Jeff May.
- Ben Wright returned from Ottawa Senators camp this past weekend and made his 2008-2009 Hurricanes debut in Cranbrook on Sunday. Wright notched an assist to help lead the Canes to a 1-0 shut out win over the Kootenay Ice.
- Carter Bancks remains on the injury report after suffering a broken foot at the Traverse City prospects tournament. Bancks is expected to make his return sometime in mid to late October.
