Blazers take out Giants 4-3

Kamloops BC - The Kamloops Blazers fought back from a 3-1 deficit to edge the Vancouver Giants 4-3 in the shootout tonight in Kamloops.

The Giants had leads of 2-0 and 3-1 before the Blazers stormed back, courtesy of their power play. Dalibor Bortnak and Michal Siska scored power play goals late in the 2nd period to equalize for the Blazers. A scoreless 3rd period and overtime led to the shootout, where CJ Stretch was able to beat Jamie Tucker high glove side as the final Blazers shooter and lift the Blazers to the victory. James Wright, Evander Kane and Casey Pierro Zabotel scored for the Giants while Shayne Wiebe potted his fourth goal of the season for the Blazers.

The Giants went 0/5 on the power play while the Blazers scored on 2 of 8 opportunities. Jon Groenheyde picks up his first win of the season for the Blazers while Jamie Tucker picks up the shootout loss. The Giants at one point outshot the Blazers 13-0 to start the game, and finished the game outshooting the Blazers 33-23.

2) Evander Kane - one goal one assist

3) Michal Siska - one goal one assist.

Next up for the Giants will be a home game against the Prince George Cougars. Game time will be at 7:30 pm, with the pre game show at 7 p.m. on SUPERHITS 650 CISL. The first 8000 fans to the Pacific Coliseum will receive a mini BC Division Banner.
