Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (December 11)- A thirty-four save performance from rookie goaltender Wayne Savage stole the spotlight in Bossier City as he collected his first career shutout in the Brahmas 4-0 victory Saturday evening.

The first period was scoreless and the Brahmas were held to just five shots in the middle frame, but it was the three shots from Texas sticks that beat the ‚¬Ëœbugs netminder John DeCaro for a 3-0 lead. The offensive outburst from the black and purple began with a goal from Greg Hogeboom on a two-on-one three minutes into the second. A follow-up on a loose rebound from Matt Pierce tagged the Brahmas for their second goal of the game. The scoring brigade in the second was completed with a trademark goal from Chad Woollard at the 15:37 mark.

In efforts to break Savage's shutout bid, the ‚¬Ëœbugs bench yanked DeCaro in the closing minutes on a powerplay in the third, but Tyler Allen found control of the puck and netted the shorthanded empty netter for a Brahmas 4-0 win.

The Brahmas penalty killing unit continues to shine as they killed all five Mudbug attempts in the contest.

Texas has one road game remaining in their December road trip as they travel to Allen Friday night. On Saturday the Brahmas return home to the NYTEX Sports Centre to face the Odessa Jackalopes for a 7:30 start; for tickets please contact the Brahmas Box Office at (817) 336-4423 or visit www.brahmas.com .
