
Mallards Sign Forward Kelly

MOLINE, Ill. (December 11, 2010) - The Quad City Mallards of the "AA" Central Hockey League today announced they have signed forward Paul Kelly.
Kelly, 30, started this season in the Netherlands with the Zoetermeer Panthers but returned to the United States after the Panthers ceased operations. Kelly scored 21 goals and notched 46 points in 64 games while splitting last season between the Odessa Jackalopes and Wichita Thunder. The West Peabody, Massachusetts, native scored 12 goals and totaled 21 points in 31 games with the Jackalopes before scoring nine times and recording 25 points in 33 games with the Thunder.
Over the course of his six year career in North America the 6' 2", 230-pound Kelly has scored 101 goals and added 112 assists for 213 points in 324 games with seven teams in the ECHL and CHL. In 2006-07 Kelly scored 24 goals and picked up a career high 28 assists while helping the Dayton Bombers to a berth in the ECHL Kelly Cup finals. The following season, in his first CHL campaign, Kelly set career highs by scoring 26 times and producing 53 points in 62 games with the Tulsa Oilers.
Kelly turned pro with the Bombers in 2005 after completing a two year Division III college career at the State University of New York- Plattsburgh. He also played one season- 1999-2000- at Boston College
The Mallards return to action on the road tonight against the Bloomington PrairieThunder. Tomorrow the Mallards will head home to collide with the Fort Wayne Komets at 4:05 p.m. Tomorrow is a Mallards' Family Day presented by APAC Customer Services, Inc., and Mix 96. Fans can purchase four tickets to that game anywhere in the i wireless Center, four beverages and four hot dogs all for just $34.
Fans attending tomorrow's game will also have the chance to join their favorite Mallards on the ice. A postgame skate with the Mallards follows each Sunday home contest this season. This will be the third of four Mallards Family Days.
In addition, fans are invited to join the Mallards for a postgame event at Chili's in Davenport following tomorrow's contest. Chili's is Iocated at 4020 East 53rd Street.
Tickets for tomorrow's Family Day- and all Mallards regular season home games- are available in person at the i wireless Center box office, at Ticketmaster outlets, through www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. Family day tickets can also be purchased online at http://myqcmallards.com/tickets/familyday/ . The ticket office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days other than Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the end of the first period. On Sundays on which the Mallards play at home the ticket office will be open from 1:00 p.m. until the end of the first period.
