Charlotte Knights News Release

(LOUISVILLE, KY) - Josh Satin's two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning propelled the Louisville Bats to a come-from-behind 3-2 win over the Charlotte Knights on Thursday in the finale of the four-game series from Louisville Slugger Field in Louisville, KY. The two teams split the four-game set.

The Knights scored early on Thursday and did so with help from 2015 International League All-Star Trayce Thompson and newcomer Justin Sellers. Thompson led the top of the second inning off with a home run over the left field fence, which gave the Knights a 1-0 lead at that point. The home run was Thompson's 13th of the season and the California native has recorded a hit in seven of his last 10 games.

Ahead by a score of 1-0 after two full innings, the Knights added to their lead in the top of the third inning thanks to Sellers, who was officially added to the active roster just before game time. Acquired by the Chicago White Sox from the Pittsburgh Pirates organization for a player to be named later or cash considerations, Sellers lined an RBI double to right field in his second at-bat with the Knights. At that point, the Knights were ahead by a score of 2-0 and starter Kyle Drabek seemed untouchable.

Drabek (5-6, 2.71) cruised through the first five innings on Thursday, allowing just four hits. In the sixth frame, the former first-round selection of the Philadelphia Phillies retired the first two batters he faced, but then ran into a bit of trouble. With two outs in the bottom of the sixth, the Bats mounted their comeback. Ryan LaMarre roped a two-out double and Brennan Boesch followed with an RBI single. Then it was Satin's turn.

A former sixth round selection of the New York Mets, Satin hit the first pitch he saw from Drabek over the left field wall for his fourth home run of the season. Satin's two-run blast changed the game and gave the Bats their first lead of the game, 3-2. That was all the home team needed.

Louisville's bullpen kept the Knights at bay over the final six innings in relief of starter Brandon Finnegan, who allowed two runs over his three innings of work. Drew Hayes (4-2, 2.79) did not allow a run over three innings and earned the win. Jose De La Torre recorded the final nine outs and earned his third save of the season.

Drabek was saddled with the loss on Thursday after allowing three runs in the sixth inning. Chicago White Sox reliever Nate Jones made his fifth appearance with the Knights on his major league rehab assignment and did not allow a run in the seventh inning. J.B. Wendelken entered the game in the eighth inning and pitched a scoreless inning.

The Knights will now hit the road and make the trek to Indianapolis, IN and open a three-game series against the Indianapolis Indians on Friday night at 7:15 p.m. from Victory Field. RHP Brad Penny will get the start for the Knights against Indianapolis RHP Chris Volstad. Pre-game radio coverage begins at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN 730 AM and www.charlotteknights.com. The "Voice of the Charlotte Knights" Matt Swierad will have the call for all of the action.
