Santa Cruz Warriors News Release

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors have acquired NBA D-League veteran guard Cameron Jones from the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in exchange for forward Mike Anderson.

Jones, 23, was the 10th overall pick in the 2011 NBA D-League Draft and was named to the 2012 NBA D-League All-Rookie First Team. The 6'4" guard averaged 14 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 48 games with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants last season, missing only two games because he was participating in Miami HEAT training camp. Jones was a standout at Northern Arizona University, finishing his college career with an all-time leading scoring record of 1,643 points.

"Cameron Jones has proven he can play and play well in the D-League," said Santa Cruz Warriors Head Coach Nate Bjorkgren. "He is very effective scoring the basketball, and his NBA pedigree makes him a solid addition to our roster."

Anderson, 26, averaged 10.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 46 games with the Dakota Wizards last season. The Virginia Commonwealth University graduate was offered a Santa Cruz Warriors training camp roster spot earlier this week as a returning player.
