Iowa Energy Acquire Two NBA Affiliate Players

DES MOINES, IA (November 2, 2012) - The Iowa Energy today announced the signing of two NBA Affiliate players, Dominique Morrison and Chris Wright. Both Morrison and Wright recently spent time with the New Orleans Hornets during NBA training camp and pre-season.

Wright, 6-1, 205, played in the Turkish Professional League last season and averaged 12.7 points while leading his Olin Edirne team with a 4.1 assists average. Prior to the 2011-12 season, Wright played three seasons at Georgetown. Morrison, 6-6, 210 pounds, is a first-year player out of Oral Roberts. He averaged 16.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game over his 4 year career at Oral Roberts.

Morrison and Wright join Othyus Jeffers, Nick Murphy and Ben Strong as the only confirmed members of the Energy's 2012-2013 roster thus far. The remainder of the Energy's 17 man training camp roster will be made up of local tryout invitees and those selected in tonight's draft. The Energy currently hold eleven picks in tonight's eight round draft.

Fans can join Energy Head Coach Kevin Young and staff, along with returning players Nick Murphy and Ben Strong for the 2012 NBA D-League Draft tonight, Friday, Nov. 2nd, at Trophy's Sports Bar and Grill located at 2701 Douglas Avenue in Des Moines. Draft selections begin at 6pm. The draft party begins at 5:30pm and is free and open to the public.
