San Diego Gulls Sign Brian Cooper to ATO

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed defenseman Brian Cooper to an amateur tryout (ATO) agreement.

Cooper, 22 (11/1/93), appeared in 35 games with the University of Nebraska-Omaha this season, collecting 5-1116 points with 51 penalty minutes (PIM) and a team-leading +7 rating. A native of Anchorage, AK, Cooper attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha for four years, appearing in 143 career NCAA games and recording 12-3143 points with a +19 rating. Cooper was named NCHC Academic All-Conference during his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. The 5-10, 197-pound blueliner was drafted by Anaheim in the fifth round (127th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
