San Antonio Rampage News Release
CEDAR PARK, Texas - The San Antonio Rampage (31-26-10-0) entered the final period with a one-goal lead but ultimately fell 2-1 to the Texas Stars (34-22-7-3) on Friday at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
After a scoreless opening frame, Zach Sanford put San Antonio on top of the Stars 1-0 with 29 seconds remaining in the second period. Sanford recorded his second goal in as many games when he entered the zone in the slot and beat Stars netminder Landon Bow for the opening tally.
Texas tied the game at one at the 5:45 mark of the third stanza when Denis Gurianov found a gap in the Rampage backline and beat goaltender Spencer Martin for his 15th of the season. The Stars took the lead over three minutes later as Sheldon Dries entered the zone uncontested and found the back of the cage at 9:03. Martin exited the ice with 1:41 remaining in regulation for an extra attacker, but the Silver and Black failed to record the game-tying goal.
