Gustavsson Assigned to Belleville

March 23, 2018 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Belleville Senators News Release

The Ottawa Senators have reassigned goaltender Filip Gustavsson to the Belleville Senators.

Gustavsson arrives in North America having just completed the Swedish Hockey League season with Lulea where he went 9-11 in 22 games posting a 2.07 GAA and a .918 save percentage.

The 19-year-old Swede was a standout at the recent World Juniors where he was named to the All-Star team as well as winning the best goaltender in the tournament as he helped Sweden win a silver medal.

He was drafted in the second round (55th overall) in 2016 and was acquired by Ottawa from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Feb. 23 as part of the Derick Brassard trade.

Gustavsson joins fellow Swedes Andreas Englund and Marcus Hogberg on the Belleville Senators. There is no timetable for his first start with Belleville. He will wear No. 30.
