Binghamton started the scoring in the game and took a 4-0 lead over the Altoona in the early stages of the game. The B-Mets got off to a quick start offensively by tallying a run in the first inning. After Sampson got out of the second and third innings unscathed, he allowed a two-out rally in the fourth that was capped by a three-run triple from Kyle Johnson.
Altoona got their first run on the board in the fifth to cut Binghamton's lead to 4-1. Andy Vasquez pulled his first triple of the season down the right field line and scored when Jarek Cunningham grounded out to short.
