Saltdogs Sweep Weekly League Awards

LINCOLN, NE - The Lincoln Saltdogs swept the American Association weekly awards for May 24-30, with Argelis Nunez named the Player of the Week and Tim Brown named the Pitcher of the Week.

Nunez hit safely in all six games Lincoln played last week, batting .611 (11-18) with three home runs, two doubles, ten RBI, six runs scored and a stolen base. He had multi-hit efforts in four of the six games. Nunez's best game of the week came on May 29 against El Paso when he went 3-for-4 with a home run and five RBI.

Brown won both of his starts last week, beating Wichita on May 25, and then beating El Paso on May 29 while pitching on three days' rest. He pitched seven innings in each start, allowing just one unearned run against Wichita and surrendering no runs at all against El Paso, posting a 0.00 ERA for the week. Brown allowed a combined eight hits in 14 innings of work, with seven strikeouts and only three walks.
