KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The American Association of Independent Professional Baseball announced Tuesday that Kansas City T-Bones outfielder Ray Sadler has been named to the 2011 Post-Season All-Star Team.
Sadler, 30, enters Tuesday's season finale with a .314/.381/.528 batting line while slugging 20 home runs and driving in a franchise single-season record 96 RBI. He has posted a team-leading 39 multi-hit games this season and, with a start on Tuesday night in Fargo, ND, will become the first T-Bones player to start 100 games in a single season. Sadler was also named Player of the Week for the week ending July 24 earlier this year.
Originally drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 30th round of the 1999 amateur draft, Sadler was later traded to the Pirates for first baseman Randall Simon on August 17, 2003. He made his major league debut with Pittsburgh on May 8, 2005 at Arizona and collected his first major league hit at San Francisco three days later, connecting for a home run against left-hander Noah Lowry. Sadler joined the T-Bones as a free agent prior to the 2010 season.
Kansas City wraps up the 2011 season on Tuesday night against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo, ND. First pitch is set for 7:02. To catch all the action listen live on KUDL Radio Bach 1660 AM or online at www.tbonesbaseball.com.
