Sacramento River Cats News Release

West Sacramento, Calif. - Sacramento's bullpen allowed just one run over four innings to knock off the Tacoma Rainiers 5-4 and lift the River Cats (1-1) to their first victory of the season. Jeff Gray pitched 1 1/3 hitless innings to earn the save. The River Cats benefited from five walks and an error in the first inning, scoring three runs on only one hit. Sean Doolittle highlighted the inning with an RBI triple. River Cats catcher Anthony Recker scored Doolittle (2 for 3, 2 runs, RBI) on a groundout in the seventh for a 5-3 lead. That run provided the winning margin as Tacoma (1-1) scored a single run in the eighth.
