MEMPHIS, TN - Memphis used a first inning run to beat Oklahoma City 1-0 Friday night at AutoZone Park.

Redbirds starter P.J. Walters dominated the RedHawks over seven innings to earn the win. The right-hander did not allow a hit until the sixth inning when Julio Borbon singled to center to break up the no-hit bid. Walters allowed only three base runners on the night fanning six, walking one and giving up just two hits. Reliever Chris Perez nailed down the win in the ninth to pick up his first save of the season. Elizardo Ramirez was the tough-luck loser, allowing one run on six hits across seven innings.

Shane Robinson led off the bottom of the first with a double to left field and came around to score the only run of the game on Jon Jay's ground out to shortstop. Robinson had two of the Redbirds six hits on the night.

Memphis and Oklahoma City wrap up their opening series tomorrow afternoon with game time slated for 1:35 p.m. Right-hander Blake Hawksworth gets the call for the home team against the Texas Rangers No. 2 prospect, southpaw Derek Holland.
