April 11, 2009 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Portland Beavers News Release
PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Beavers today placed outfielder Josh Alley on the disabled list with a left ankle sprain and added outfielder Drew Macias, who was optioned from San Diego on Friday, to the active roster.
Alley, 25, has appeared in one game for the Beavers thus far in 2009, batting leadoff and going 0-for-5 while starting in left field last night in Portland's 5-4, extra-inning victory at Fresno.
Macias, 26, was recalled by the Padres on Monday and went 0-for-2 in two pinch-hitting appearances prior to being optioned Friday. Macias, who spent the majority of the 2008 season with Class AA San Antonio, appeared in 31 games with the Beavers in 2007, batting .282 (31-for-110) with six doubles, one triple, two home runs and 11 RBIs.
With today's moves, the Beavers' roster remains at its 24-man limit.
