Rapid City Rush News Release

(Rapid City, SD) - Today, the Rapid City Rush, in conjunction with the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League, announced that forward Derek LeBlanc has been recalled. LeBlanc will join the Moose immediately for this weekend's games against the Milwaukee Admirals. LeBlanc began this season playing nine games with the Moose, collecting one assist. In 18 games with the Rush, the Brandon, Manitoba native totaled 7 goals and 9 assists for 16 points.

"It's good to see that they've followed Derek's progress here in Rapid and hopefully he'll seize the opportunity and prove that he's capable of playing at that level," said Assistant Coach Mark DeSantis. "This is good for Derek, good for our team, and of course good exposure for the CHL as a whole. It's a great opportunity for the guys that normally would not receive as much ice time to step up, fill the void, and showcase their abilities."

In his rookie campaign, LeBlanc played in all 64 games and finished the season second on the team in goals (26), 5th in points (45), and led Rapid City with 4 game-winning goals. In the CHL rookie standings, Leblanc finished 11th in points, 3rd in goals, and led all rookies with 11 powerplay goals.

The Rush face the Allen Americans tonight at 6:35pm MST for the first ever meeting between the two squads. The game can be heard on 100.3 the FOX or at www.foxradio.com.
