HIDALGO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League play their first game of the second half of the season tonight when they travel to play Rio Grande Valley at the Dodge Arena. Game time is 7:35pm.

The Bucks and Bees are in the middle of a tight Southern Conference as Laredo enters tonight two points back of Texas for third place and are just one point ahead of Rio for fourth. Laredo and Rio will have not met since December 2nd when the Bucks rallied from a 3-0 defict to earn a 4-3 win at the Dodge Arena. The Bucks are unbeaten against the Bees so far in the regular season posting a 4-0-1 record.
Laredo has struggled away from home as they enter tonight on a five-game road losing streak (0-3-2). The Bucks last road win came in a 2-0 shutout win in Corpus on December 17th.
The Bucks final game of the first half of the season was last Saturday was a 3-0 shutout loss in Corpus. After going 5-for-42 in their previous five games on the power-play the Bucks broke out last Friday night going 5-for-9 in a shootout win over Colorado but then went 0-6 in Corpus the next night. The Bucks are 10-for-57 on the power-play in their last six games.
Just 48 hours ago the Bucks and Bees teamed up with Corpus Christi as the South Texas All Stars beat the CHL 9-4. Laredo's Darryl Smith, Evan Schwabe and Jeff Bes tallied goals in the game while Rio's Sean Muncy took MVP honors picking up four points (2-24).
Kevin Desfosses will start in net tonight for the Bucks after signing a five-game contract Thursday. Desfosses went 3-5 with Corpus this season with a 3.1 G.A.A and a.903 sv.%.
Curtis Billsten will return to the line-up for the first time since December 26 while Evan Schwabe was placed on the 14-day IR Thursday after suffering a lower-body injury in Wednesday's All Star game.

The tailgating competition starts at 4pm Saturday with the "Best BBQ Chicken Cook Off". The winner of the competition will receive a prize from the Bucks.
**PINK IN THE RINK JAN. 29**
The Bucks will host their second annual "Pink in the Rink" game on Friday January 29th at the LEC. If the game is sold out the Bucks will donate $10,000 to WINGS. WINGS (Women Involved in Nurturing, Giving and Sharing) helps uninsured or undersured women of Laredo receive treatment for breast cancer.
