Rapid City Rush News Release

Tulsa, OK - The Rapid City Rush began their seven-game road trip with a contest against the Tulsa Oilers on Tuesday night at the BOK Center. The Rush picked up the game's first goal, but the Oilers answered back with four unanswered to come away with a 4-1 win on home ice. The Rush now travel to Ohio to battle the Dayton Gems this Thursday at 5:05pm MST.

The Rush came away with the opening goal, the second goal in three games for former Oiler, Brendon Hodge. On the forecheck, Colt King pressured in behind the net and came away with the puck, spinning a pass to Hodge at the side of the net who snapped a shot home. The Oilers bounced back nearly ten minutes later a nice drop pass from Derek Eastman set up Harrison Reed for his first of two. After twenty minutes, the teams were even at 1-1.

Reed picked up his second of the game at the 3:08 mark of the second, a play that was set up by Chad Costello and Jack Combs, giving the Oilers the lead. Sean Erickson later scored as a Rush penalty was expiring, giving the Oilers a 3-1 lead heading into the third.

Oilers leading scorer Chad Costello collected his third point of the night with a goal at the 13:27 mark, bringing the game to its 4-1 final.

Both teams went scoreless on the powerplay as the Rush finished 0-for-3 while the Oilers were held 0-for-6.
