The Bloomington PrairieThunder begin the week tied for fifth place in the CHL's Turner (Northern) Conference with a record of 10-6-1, although the PThunder has games in hand on everyone in the conference except for Fort Wayne. Bloomington plays two games at home this week as the team prepares to play eleven of their next thirteen between now and January 7th on home ice at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

Last weekend in Indiana, the PrairieThunder posted a perfect four point trip by winning Friday night in Fort Wayne 5-3 over the Komets and by defeating the Evansville IceMen 3-2 in overtime on Saturday night. In Friday's game, it was the second straight win for Bloomington in Fort Wayne. Last year in six trips to play the Komets, Fort Wayne won five of the meetings.

It's the third meeting of the year against the Gems of Dayton. Dayton has won the first two games of the season series by scores of 4-2 on October 30 th in Bloomington and 4-3 in Dayton on November 27th. Dayton begins the week tied for second place in the Turner Conference with a record of 11-6-1. The Gems will play Thursday night at home against Rapid City before heading to Bloomington. Veteran Chris Lipsett leads Dayton in scoring with 8 goals & 10 assists for 18 points in 18 games. Goaltender Jeff Jakaitis is among the top twine tenders in the CHL with a 2.50 goals against average and a 93.0% save percentage.

Saturday, December 11th: 7:05pm vs. Quad City Mallards

Promotion: Annual "Guns & Hoses Night"

The fourth meeting of the year against the Mallards. Quad City leads the season series 2-1 but Bloomington won the last meeting 4-3 on November 26th in Moline, Illinois. Quad City begins the week in eighth place in the Turner Conference with a record of 9-10-0. The Mallards start the week in Independence, Missouri against the Missouri Mavericks before heading east to Bloomington. Mike McLean leads all Mallards in scoring with 21 points (8 goals & 13 assists). Former PrairieThunder Zac Pearson leads Quad City in goals with 10. Saturday's game will possibly feature David Brown vs. David Brown. David Brown, the Mallards goaltender is 4-6-0 on the season with a 3.08 goals against average. David Brown, the Bloomington defenseman, will be playing in his second game since joining the team this week from the Odessa Jackalopes.

Forward Jason Dale is still the Bloomington scoring leader with 15 points (6 goals & 9 assists).....John Snowden is the team leader in goals scored (7) and game winning goals (5).....Bill Bagron is the assists leader with 10.....Goaltender Marco Emond has won 9 games and has posted a 2.52 goals against average and a 90.9% save percentage.....To make room for new defensemen David Brown and Pierre-Olivier Beaulieu, who were acquired late last week from Odessa, Bloomington released forwards Kevin Fukala and Anthony Ciraulo on Sunday.....The PrairieThunder is 4-2 in their last six games.
