RUMBLE PONIES RETURN TO THE DIAMOND IN AKRON: After finishing the first half of their Eastern League slate with an 8-6 win against Erie on Sunday, the Ponies begin a four-game series at Canal Park in Akron on Thursday night. Binghamton begins the second half of play 5.5 games back of a playoff spot, one game below .500. Binghamton returns to NYSEG Stadium for a weeklong homestand following their trip to Ohio.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Mickey Jannis prepares for his 14th Eastern League start of the season and first against Akron. After five straight winless starts, the knuckleballer has won-back-to-back starts, including his last on July 4. He went five innings of five-run ball in the Ponies 7-5 win against the SeaWolves. Jannis last faced the RubberDucks in back-to-back outings on July 25 and August 12 , 2017.

2018 EASTERN LEAGUE ALL-STAR GAME: On Wednesday at ARM & HAMMER Park in Trenton, the Western Division All-Stars defeated the Eastern Division All-Stars in post-nine innings hitting contest. The score was tied 4-4 after nine forcing the hitting contest, won by Altoona's Will Craig against Reading's Zach Green.

WHERE WERE THEY? The 2017 Rumble Ponies entered the All-Star break at 46-38. They began their second half of the season with six straight wins, including a four-game sweep at Reading immediately following the mid-summer classic.

ALL-STAR PONIES: Levi Michael finished 1-for-2, tripling and scoring a run in his first at bat of the contest. Tim Tebow doubled in his first plate appearance, finishing 1-for-4. Patrick Mazeika served as a late-game replacement, singling and scoring the tying run in the bottom of the ninth inning. Daniel Zamora (1.1 IP) and David Roseboom (0.1 IP) combined to toss 1.2 innings of scoreless baseball.

SEAWOLVES SHUTDOWN: Binghamton finished their season series with Erie with a 12 games to 5 advantage. The Rumble Ponies won all five series against their Western Division foes, and remain the only team in the Eastern League with at least 10 wins against two different opponents (New Hampshire).

SCOUTING THE RUBBERDUCKS: Akron begins the second half of the Eastern League slate with the best record in the circuit. Tony Mansolino's club has won 10 of their last 14 games for a 3.5 game cushion in the Western Division. Akron has won five of the six games played against Binghamton.

TAYLOR THRIVING: Kevin Taylor finished 3-for-4 on Sunday for his sixth three-hit game of the season. He also collected 3 RBI for the second time this year.
