New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
PORTLAND, ME - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays) saw an early four-run advantage wither away in a 5-4 loss to the Portland Sea Dogs (Red Sox) Thursday night at Hadlock Field.
The Fisher Cats jumped in front in the first. Dalton Pompey singled in his return to New Hampshire and Bo Bichette walked then Cavan Biggio delivered a run with a single. Max Pentecost homered two batters later to make it 4-0.
Portland's first run came across in the bottom of the second inning. Tate Matheny singled, moved to second on a groundout, scoring on a single by Jhon Nunez to make it 4-1.
Michael Chavis, Baseball America's second ranked Red Sox prospect, pulled the Sea Dogs to within 4-3 with a home run in the bottom of the fifth inning after Jeremy Rivera reached on a bunt single, but 'Cats starter Josh DeGraaf was otherwise solid over 5.2 innings of work.
