TONIGHT: The Binghamton Rumble Ponies play the rubber game of their 3-game series against the Harrisburg Senators tonight at FNB Field. The Ponies last night snapped a season-long four-game losing streak. They have now taken four of five games against Harrisburg this year.
LAST TRIP TO CITY ISLAND : Tonight will be the final game for the Rumble Ponies in Harrisburg this year. The two teams will play one more series at NYSEG Stadium 8/6-8/8.
KRIZAN'S KRUSHING IT: Jason Krizan is on a season-long nine game-hitting streak. In last night's 7-5 win...Krizan hit the go-ahead two-run homer to left in the sixth inning. Over his last 14 games, Krizan is hitting .327 with 4 homers and 19 RBI. Before that, Krizan was hitting .152 with 1 HR and 6 RBI. Krizan has now raised his overall average to .229 with 5 homers and 25 RBI. This is Krizan's first year in the Mets organization after spending 8 years in the Tigers system.
EAST VS. WEST: The Rumble Ponies are 19-5 against the Western Division but only 12-17 against the East. With last night's victory, they also improved their road record to 22-9.
TIGHT DIVISION RACE: The Rumble Ponies are now in a tie for second place with Hartford in the Eastern Division...with both teams 1.5 GB of Trenton.
BRAYMER A FAMILIAR FACE: LHP Ben Braymer makes the start for the Senators tonight. He faced the Ponies in the final game of the teams first series in Harrisburg on May 9. Braymer allowed only 1 run over four hits over 7 innings, throwing 103 pitches (67 strikes) in the no-decision. The Rumble Ponies went on to win 5-3 in 11 innings.
UCETA'S SCORELESS STREAK: Rumble Ponies reliever Adonis Uceta pitched two and two thirds innings of scoreless relief Wednesday night, getting the win to go to 3-2. Uceta has not allowed a run in his last five appearances (4 in relief, 1 start), spanning a total of ten innings.
TOFFEY WITH A GOOD EYE: Rumble Ponies third basemen Will Toffey leads the Eastern League with 34 walks on the year. Toffey has reached base at least once in the last 12 games he has started.
MLB DRAFT: The Mets selected third-basemen Brett Baty out of Lake Travis High School (TX) with the 12th overall pick in the first round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft Monday night.
COMING UP: The Rumble Ponies continue their six-game road trip in Hartford on Friday evening, opening up a three-game series against the Yard goats. Friday night's game begins at 7:05, Saturday is an evening game beginning at 6:05, and Sunday is an afternoon affair starting at 1:05.
