Harrisburg Senators News Release


The Akron RubberDucks rallied for two runs in the seventh and three in the eighth to beat the Senators 5-3 Friday night at FNB Field. Harrisburg scored single runs in the first and fifth innings to take a 2-0 lead. Akron tied the game in the seventh, but the Senators retook the lead in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI ground out by Jacob Young. Akron slugged two home runs in the eighth to claim a 5-3 which turned out to be the final. DJ Herz started for the Senators and pitched 4.2 hitless innings.

The Big Play

Juan Brito hit a 2-2 pitch into the right field seats to give Akron a 4-3 lead in the eighth inning. Just their second lead in the series.

On Capitol Hill

DJ Herz was solid in his 4.2 innings of work. He faced 18 batters, allowing a hit and walking two while striking out four... Reid Schaller stranded two runners when he came on in the fifth then pitched a perfect sixth... Garvin Alston allowed two runs in the seventh on two hits and a walk... Jack Sinclair allowed three runs in the eighth on a double and two home runs... Patrick Ruotolo pitched a scoreless ninth inning.

With the Gavel

Trey Lipscomb drove in the first two Senators runs with a double and a single... JT Arruda had a single and a double and scored a run. Harrisburg had nine hits but just one extra base hit.

Filibusters

The Senators had their four-game winning streak snapped with the loss... Harrisburg went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position... The Senators had six hits in the first three innings but hit into two double plays... The time of the game was 2:27... The attendance was 4,863.
