Summary

Wednesday night at Canal Park in Akron, the RubberDucks used a three-run third inning to beat the Senators 4-2. It was the second straight game that Akron had a big inning early in the game. Trailing 3-0, the Sens chipped away when James Wood homered then drew a run closer on an RBI double by Trey Lipscomb in the sixth inning. But they would get no closer and Akron tacked on a run in the bottom of the sixth for their final run. The Senators had runners at second and third and two outs in the eighth and then loaded the bases with two outs in the ninth.

The Big Play

The Senators had runners at second and third with one out in the sixth inning with Onix Vega at the plate, trailing by a run. Vega struck out, followed by a walk to load the bases, which was followed by an inning ending strikeout.

On Capitol Hill

Six different pitchers climbed the hill for the Senators... Cole Henry started and went two innings followed by Mitchell Parker. Parker took the loss allowing three runs in one-third of an inning... Reid Schaller, Patrick Ruotolo, and Malvin Pena all had scoreless outings... Lucas Knowles allowed a run in two innings of work.

With the Gavel

Harrisburg had ten hits in the game... Frankie Tostado, Donovan Casey, James Wood and Onix Vega all had two hits... One of the two hits by Wood was his sixth home run... Trey Lipscomb had an RBI double.

Filibusters

Harrisburg twice loaded the bases in the game, in the sixth and ninth innings, but only came away with one run... Harrisburg went 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position and stranded seven in scoring position... Donovan Casey threw a runner out at the plate to end the sixth inning.

The Senators and Akron RubberDucks play game three of their six-game series Thursday night at 6:35 p.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Stations 96.5 FM, 95.3 FM, and 1400 AM beginning at 6:20 p.m.
