Rubber match in Edmonton
October 28, 2005 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
B.C. Lions News Release
The BC Lions (12-4) go into Commonwealth Stadium this Friday to face the Edmonton Eskimos (10-6) in what promises to be a very exciting game. This will be the third meeting between the two teams this season, with both squads having won once in the previous two encounters.
The result of the rubber match on Friday will have significant implications for both team's playoff aspirations. The Lions are looking to lock up the first overall spot in the Western Division and earn themselves a direct birth to the West Division Finals, with "Dome-field" advantage. The Eskimos will be seeking to knock off the current 1st place Lions in an attempt to improve their own chances of ending the season as the number one seed in the West Division.
A crowd of 50,000 or more is anticipated to attend the game on Friday in Edmonton. Lions fans can catch the game on TSN (television) or tune into The TEAM 1040 AM, the official radio broadcaster of Lions Football. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00pm Pacific Standard Time.
