(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimo Football Club mourns the passing of 21-year employee and dear friend Pam Monastyrskyj (Mona-stir-ski). Pam passed away Friday morning at the age of 45 after a courageous battle with cancer.
"This is a difficult day for our organization. Pam was an inspiration to all who knew her. She represented courage and strength and led by grace and laughter while radiating life and tenderness. She was a wife, a daughter, an aunt, a sister, and a very dear friend who we will miss tremendously," said Eskimo President and CEO, Hugh Campbell.
Monastyrskyj had spent more than 18 years as Campbell's executive assistant and was instrumental in the success of hundreds of off-field events such as the Eskimo Annual Dinner, Green and Gold Club and many, many more.
A memorial service for Pam will be held on Tuesday, November 1st at 11:30 am at the Ukrainian Youth Centre (9625-153 Avenue). Flowers will be graciously declined. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Cross Cancer Institute or Capital Care Norwood - Palliative Care.
