Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
OMAHA - The Omaha Royals are teaming up with the Red Cross to assist the victims of this week's devastating fire in South Omaha.
During a between-inning break at each of the Royals games through this home stand, which runs through next Wednesday, Royals staff members are using Red Cross buckets to collect fans' donations to help the survivors of the Colonial House Apartments at 22nd and K Streets.
The fire claimed the lives of four residents of the apartment and injured a dozen others, three of whom remained hospitalized. Many survivors of the fire have been given shelter by the Red Cross.
The Red Cross is accepting cash donations only at the Royals games. The Omaha Royals thank their fans in advance for their generosity.
