HEADLINES: Dickey's pitches shutout ... Arias stays hot ... RedHawks look for 6th straight home win
TODAY'S OPPONENT: The Las Vegas 51s are the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. They have been a member of the Pacific Coast League since 1983. Last year, they were 57-86 and finished fourth in the PC South.
TODAY'S GAME: A win today would be the RedHawks' sixth in a row at home and match their longest home winning streak of the season. They won six in a row at home from May 16-June 3. The RedHawks continue their eight-game homestand against Las Vegas. This is their 114th game, 54th home game and third game against Las Vegas. The RedHawks are on a stretch where they will play 21 of 29 games at home.
LAST GAME: RedHawk starter R.A. Dickey pitched his second career shutout in their 2-0 win over Las Vegas. Dickey gave up two hits (both singles by Oscar Robles), walked one and struck out six. He threw 112 pitches, 76 for strikes. Dickey's first shutout was Aug. 20, 2003 for Texas at Detroit. It was the 10th complete game of Dickey's career and his ninth as a RedHawk. It was the second nine-inning shutout by a RedHawk pitcher this season ( John Wasdin May 19 at Salt Lake) and the first two-hitter by a RedHawk since Chris Young threw one Aug. 18, 2004 at Memphis is a seven-inning game. It was the seventh shutout of the season for the RedHawks. Both RedHawk runs came in the fifth inning on singles by Drew Meyer and Adrian Brown.
VS. LAS VEGAS: The RedHawks are 32-26 all-time against Las Vegas and 10-11 against them at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. Las Vegas has not been to AT&T Bricktown Ballpark since 2003 when they were swept in a four-game series by the RedHawks. Las Vegas is 10-3 in its last four visits to Oklahoma City .
PITCHING MATCHUP: Starting pitcher Derek Lee makes his 18th start of the season. He is 0-7 with a 6.57 ERA (28 ER/38.1 IP) in his last eight outings. At home, Lee is 2-3 with a 2.54 ERA (13 ER/46 IP) in 10 appearances and he is 1-7 with a 6.67 ERA (41 ER/55.1 IP) in 12 appearances on the road. Joel Hanrahan starts for Las Vegas.
HART WATCH: First baseman Jason Hart has the second-most home runs in RedHawks history with 56. Scott Sheldon hit 57 in 1998 and 1999. Hart's last home run was a two-run homer July 30 at Tacoma off Cha-Seung Baek.
JAMIE BURKE: Catcher Jamie Burke has hits in 12 of his last 14 games. In his last 14 games, he is 20-for-53 (.377) with five doubles, three home runs and 12 RBIs. Burke had three doubles Aug. 2 vs. Las Vegas, the first RedHawk with three doubles in a game since Ed Sprague 5/2/02 vs. Nashville.
JOAQUIN ARIAS: Shortstop Joaquin Arias has hits in 10 of his last 12 games. In his last 12 games, he is 18-for-51 (.353) with five doubles, a triple and five RBIs.
CLOSE GAMES: Forty-seven of Oklahoma 's 56 wins this season have come by four runs or less, including 25 one-run wins. Also, 42 of Oklahoma's 57 losses this season have come by four runs or less, including 17 by one run.
ONE-RUN WINS: The RedHawks lead the PCL in one-run wins with 25. Tucson is second with 23.
RADIO UPDATE: The RedHawks' flagship station for most games is KEBC 1340 AM. However, there are a few dates the flagship station will change due to scheduling conflicts. The RedHawks will be on AM 1000 KTOK Aug. 26. They will be on KFXY 1640 AM Aug. 20 and Sept. 3.
TRANSACTIONS: C Nick Trzesniak has been traded to Florida for future considerations. P Ryan Jensen has been promoted from Frisco (AA). P Kameron Loe has been optioned by Texas .
DOT-DOT-DOTS: The RedHawks are 47-34 since Mike Boulanger took over as manager May 11 ... RedHawks pitchers have struck out 70 batters in the last seven games ... Drew Meyer's RBI in last night's game was his first in 19 games (July 9 vs. New Orleans) ... The two hits allowed last night matched the season low by a RedHawk opponent (June 15 at Memphis) ... Last night's game was the shortest nine-inning game of the year (2:06 May 19 at Salt Lake in a shutout by John Wasdin).
