Saturday night marks one of our favourite nights of the year at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. It's Pink in the Rink in support of the BC Cancer Foundation! In the Royals' first two seasons on Vancouver Island, the annual Pink in the Rink game has sold out each year and raised over $71,000 for the BC Cancer Foundation! Proceeds from the raffles, Chuck-A-Puck, 50/50, jersey auctions, ticket options and more will all go towards the BC Cancer Foundation again this year! All funds raised during the Pink in the Rink game will support local research at the BC Cancer Agency Vancouver Island Centre.
Sponsors for the Royals' 2014 Pink in the Rink game include CHEK News, the Times Colonist, 103.1 JACK FM, Ocean 98.5, TELUS, RBC, Seafirst Insurance, Uptown and CML Healthcare. Mike's Hard Lemonade is also a proud sponsor of Pink in the Rink and will donate one dollar towards the BC Cancer Foundation for every can of Mike's Hard Lemonade sold at the game!
The festivities kick off on Saturday night prior to puck drop! Foldable pink megaphones will be available for a suggested donation of $3 to the BC Cancer Foundation to help fans make some noise for the cause! Stuffed critters from TELUS will also be available by donation to the BC Cancer Foundation on entrance. The Torquay Elementary Choir will also sing our national anthem before a special ceremonial puck drop honouring the BC Cancer Foundation! The fun and excitement will continue throughout the game and fans are encouraged to show their support for this great cause by wearing pink at Saturday's game!
The first intermission will feature 103.1 Jack FM and Ocean 98.5's Cash Grab presented by RBC! Two fans will have the chance to win a $500 VISA gift card from RBC while RBC will also match the prize winnings with a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation! The fan with the most cash grabbed will win a two-night trip for two and accommodation in Seattle from 103.1 Jack FM and Ocean 98.5!
The second intermission will feature the Seafirst Survivor Shootoff. One local cancer survivor will compete to score a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation from Seafirst Insurance, and win a Sony Xperia Z1 phone from TELUS in the process!
During the game, fans will be able to purchase tickets for the End of the Roll 50/50 draw and foam pucks for the Old House Village Chuck-A-Puck. The prize for the evening's Chuck-A-Puck will include a one-night stay and spa treatment for two courtesy of Old House Village, lift passes to Mount Washington, an Ion Tailgater Bluetooth Compact Wireless Stereo from Mike's Hard Lemonade, and a two-night trip for two and accommodation in Seattle from 103.1 Jack FM and Ocean 98.5! Proceeds from the evening's End of the Roll 50/50 and Old House Village Chuck-A-Puck will go towards the BC Cancer Foundation.
Also during the game, fans can bid on the game-worn special edition Pink in the Rink jerseys of Steven Hodges, Jack Walker and Austin Carroll at Guest Services by way of silent auction. Immediately following the game, fans are encouraged to participate in a live jersey auction where Keegan Kanzig, Jordan Fransoo, Joe Hicketts and the evening's starting goalie will raffle their special edition jerseys right off their backs! Fans can look for the Royals' promotional staff during the live auction in order to place their bids. Full jersey auction details are available at www.victoriaroyals.com/jerseyauctions.
