OMAHA, NE - Due to several factors, including higher than usual ticket pre-sales, the Omaha Royals will be expanding the open seating at Rosenblatt Stadium for tonight's 7:05 p.m. game against the Albuquerque Isotopes.

"When we made the decision to make Rosenblatt Stadium more suitable for the Royals by reducing the capacity, we knew there would be nights when we needed to expand it," said Royals President Alan Stein. "With our great advance ticket sales and demand for tonight's game we are opening up additional seats to accommodate more fans."

The Royals will take down two large seat covers, which will expand the capacity of the stadium to 9,881. The normal seating capacity for most Royals games this season is 8,859.

Eric Leach, Royals Assistant General Manager/Group Sales reports that over 3,500 group tickets have been sold to tonight's game. That fact, combined with a large amount of pre-purchased single game tickets, season tickets and the anticipation of a good walk-up crowd with nice baseball weather in Omaha today led to the decision to expand the ballpark's capacity.

It's Ty Cobb Night tonight! Ty Cobb, the Royals marketing intern who shares not only the name but the same birthday with the legendary Hall of Famer, will be signing autographs and giving away his baseball card. One lucky lady will also win a date with Ty. The game will be followed by Werner Enterprises fireworks. The night is also presented by KAT 103, KETV and The City Weekly.

For tickets, call (402) 738-5100, or order and print tickets online at www.oroyals.com and at www.Etix.com. For details on the group ticket rate, call (402) 738-5105.
