Bobby Scales ripped a two out single to drive in the games only run as the Iowa Cubs completed a four game sweep of the New Orleans Zephyrs in front of 10,371 at Principal Park on Friday night. Mike Burns pitched eight shutout innings allowing four hits to earn his eighth win of the season. Iowa won the game 1-0 in a classic pitchers duel. Ruddy Lugo made his first start for the Zephyrs since retuning from the Mets and pitched six innings allowed one run on five hits and suffered the loss. The Cubs scored their only run in the sixth inning. A lead off double by Andres Blanco, the pitched advanced him to third on a bunt and following a strikeout of Felix Pie Scales singled home the run. Mike Wuertz pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn his second save. The fast paced game took 1:51, the fastest game of the season.

Game Notes: The Zephyrs finish the trip 4-4 and have dropped four consecutive games. The sweep by the I-Cubs is the fifth time this season the Zephyrs have been swept in a series. New Orleans leads the league in pitching 12 shutouts was dealt its 5th shut out of the year.... Jesus Feliciano is second in the PCL with 143 hits, shattering his previous career best of 117 hits, set in 2000 with Class A San Bernardino ... Feliciano is four hits away from moving into the Zephyrs' single-season top 10, as Richard Hidalgo (1997) and Carlos Hernandez (1998) each had 147 hits in a season ... The club record is 167, set by Anderson Hernandez last year. After last night's defeat, Jon Niese's overall season ERA is 3.05, fifth-best in the Mets system, and his 132 strikeouts leads the organization ... The Z's are 26-41 vs. Northern Division teams, but 35-25 vs. Southern Division opponents.
