Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, remind the Greater Berks community that the team will celebrate the Thanksgiving Season with a Night of Hope this Saturday (November 26) when the team takes on the Cincinnati Cyclones at Santander Arena in Reading (7:00 pm). The game night activities will focus on supporting the Hope Rescue Mission in Reading.

"We're excited to dedicate Saturday's game to supporting the Hope Rescue Mission in Reading," said Royals' Team President Drew Bell. "The Mission provides a vital service for men living in our community, and we believe that it's important to do what we can to provide support so that they can continue their positive work in helping men get their lives pointed in the right direction. Our fans have always shown a willingness to get behind important causes that improve our community, and we're confident that they will be there this Saturday for the Hope Rescue Mission, particularly in this season of giving."

The team's efforts on Saturday will include a Toiletry Drive for the men at the Hope Rescue Mission. Fans are encouraged to bring new and unopened toiletry items, including tooth brushes, tooth paste, shaving cream, deodorant, and soap. The Royals will also have stations at the entrances set up to collect warm hats, blankets, jackets, and other items to keep the men at the Mission warm during these winter months.

In return, fans entering the building will receive one of the most exciting giveaways of the year-an orange "trapper's hat" courtesy of the Royals Official Team Dentist, Deibler Dental.

The team will also be doing its part by wearing special "KISS-themed" jerseys that will be auctioned to support the Hope Rescue Mission. Please note that thirteen of the KISS jerseys will go in a live post-game on-ice auction: #6 Johnson, #7 Perry, #8 Pettersson, #9 Penny, #15 Robertson, #18 Hall, #21 Wilkins, #24 Goulbourne, #28 Liberati, #48 Iberer, #55 Boivin, #60 Fielding, #01 Slapshot; and the others will be available for bid in on-line auction at www.Bidpal.net/goroyals beginning on Wednesday (November 23) at 9:00 am and concluding on Sunday (November 27) at 9:00 pm.
