Jackals and Amerks Swap Goalies

ELMIRA, N.Y. - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, proudly celebrating our 10th season in the ECHL, announced today that goaltender Jason Kasdorf has been reassigned to Elmira from Rochester . Jackals goalie John Muse has been recalled by the Amerks in a corresponding transaction.
Kasdorf, 24, is in his first professional season, after spending a four-year career at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (R.P.I.) from 2012 to 2016. A 6th round pick by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2011 NHL Draft, Kasdorf posted a 12-12-5 record with a 2.30 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage as a senior in 2015-16.
The 6-foot-4, 195-pound netminder was acquired by the Sabres in a trade with the Jets in 2015 and he made his NHL debut with the Sabres Apr. 8, 2016 vs. Columbus, allowing four goals on 30 shots in a 4-1 loss. The Winnipeg native has appeared in three games with the Amerks this season, posting an 0-3-0 record. Before attending R.P.I., Kasdorf played one season in the USHL with the Des Moines Buccaneers in 2011-12.
Muse, 28, has appeared in six games for the Jackals this season and is 2-2-2 with a 2.78 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage. This is his second recall to Rochester in the regular season, after being assigned to Elmira at the end of training camp. The Boston College product was recalled Oct. 26 to the Amerks and he made one start against the St. John's IceCaps, making 32 saves in a 5-2 win Oct. 29 .
