
Royals and Sovereign Center Announce Staff Promotions and Additions

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL and the Sovereign Center, an SMG managed arena facility in Reading, Pennsylvania, today announced several staff promotions and additions. Five staff members with the Royals and Sovereign Center have recently received promotions, and three new staff members have been added to the organization.
Stephanie Schneider, the only remaining staff member who has been with the Royals since the inception of the team, has been promoted to the position of assistant general manager. In this role, Schneider will serve as the primary assistant to General Manager Gordon Kaye in managing the daily business operations of the Royals. Other promotions within the organization include Brenna Temple, who now holds the position of director of marketing with the Royals; and Melanie Mann, who has been named the director of marketing for the Sovereign Center and director of advertising for the Royals. This marks the third season with the Royals for Temple, who will continue her expansive role with the team which includes managing game night and event presentations, overseeing team publications, and administrating contracts with the team's corporate partners. Mann, who has been with the Sovereign Center since 2005, will continue her role as the building's liaison with event promoters, as well as managing media and advertisement placement for events at the Sovereign Center, including home games for the Royals.
Mark Thompson, who has served as the team's broadcaster for the past two seasons, has added the role of coordinator of hockey operations to his duties. In addition to continuing his role as broadcaster, Thompson will now also assist Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Karl Taylor in administrative matters related to team services. The Royals have also promoted Aaron Margolis, who last season served as the Royals' game night video coordinator, to the team's marketing and video coordinator. Margolis will continue to handle the team's video presentation within the Sovereign Center on game nights and at other events, as well as provide overall assistance within the Royals' marketing department.
The Royals and Sovereign Center have also recently added three new members to the staff. Mark Wallace has been hired as the director of sales for both the Royals and the Sovereign Center. In this role, Wallace is principally responsible for forging partnerships between the Royals, the Sovereign Center, and the business community. The Royals have also recently added Heather Hefty as the team's human resources and accounting coordinator and Betsy Roxburgh as the team's ticket department manager.
The Royals' home opener is on Saturday, November 3, 2007, against the Cincinnati Cyclones. Royals' full Season Tickets and Total Choice Flex Plans are now on sale.
