Manchester Monarchs News Release
Sher-Wood Player of the Week Nomination: Pavel Rosa
Pavel Rosa's season-high four-point effort against the Providence Bruins on Sunday helped the Monarchs extend their winning streak to three games. Rosa scored two of the Monarchs three third period goals as they rallied to beat the North Division-leading Bruins, snapping a thre-game losing streak in head-to-head competition. Rosa tied the game at 3-3 with his 21st goal 10 minutes into the final period, and he sealed the win by scoring his 22nd goal into an empty net with 33 seconds remaining. Rosa also collected three points (1g, 2a) on Saturday night against the South Division-leading Norfolk Admirals, and he scored the game-winning goal in the Monarchs 2-0 win over the Lowell Lock Monsters on Friday night. Rosa began the week by registering an assist in Tuesday and Wednesday games vs. the St. John's Maple Leafs. Tuesday marked Rosa's return to active duty after being sidelined for 17 games with an injury. The Monarchs power play, which was slumping before Rosa's return, registered at least one power play goal in each of the five games last week. Rosa collected four power play points (1g, 3a) in the five games.
