Worcester IceCats News Release

WORCESTER, MA - On Sunday, March 16th in conjunction with the Worcester Telegram & Gazette and Peterson Oil Service, the Worcester IceCats held their eighth annual St. Patrick's Day Charity Jersey Auction at Worcester's Centrum Centre. The result was another significant windfall for the Worcester Parks and Recreation Department.

Partnering with Peterson Oil Service, the IceCats official jersey sponsors, and the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, fans were given the opportunity to bid on the IceCats game-worn jerseys during last night's game against the Cleveland Barons. The special white jerseys, highlighted with shamrock shoulder patches, green logo and numbers, were presented to the winning bidders and autographed by the player in a post-game ceremony. This year, the spirited auction raised $17,200 for the Parks and Recreation Department.

"We certainly have to applaud the generosity of our fans", noted IceCats Executive Vice President Kevin Cummings. "Each season, they strengthen the Parks and Recreation Department with their overwhelming support of the jersey auction."

Since the 1995-1996 season, the IceCats have conducted the event. The eight-year total now stands at nearly $90,000.

The IceCats next home game is this Wednesday against the Providence Bruins. Centrum Centre game time is 7:05 PM. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, including the Box Office at Worcester's Centrum Centre.
