ST. CLOUD, MN - The St. Cloud Rox (34-20) earned the game one victory against the Willmar Stingers (39-15) with a 15-14 final score, Wednesday, July 26th. The Rox are tied for first place in the Great Plains West division.
The starting pitcher for St. Cloud was Tyler Hemmesch. Hemmesch had 1.2 innings pitched with four strikeouts in his 4thstart of the season. Hemmesch has 22 strikeouts over 15.2 innings pitched this season.
Michael McNamara powered the Rox offense with a home run, a double, four RBI and two runs scored. Chipper Beck had a career day, with three hits and three RBI, driving in the tying run in the 8thinning. Jackson Hauge continues a stellar All-Star season, with two doubles, a triple, and four RBI in the victory. Hauge leads the team with a .308 batting average, 19 extra-base hits, and 45 RBI this season. Kevin Butler reached base four times and scored four times in his 4thgame with St. Cloud.
Tommy Gross struck out six batters through 3.1 innings of work. Gross has a 1.10 ERA and 36 strikeouts over 32.2 innings pitched this season. Andrew Morones worked through the 6thinning with two strikeouts. Chris Brown held Willmar scoreless in the 7thinning and 8thinning in his 11thappearance of the season. Mason Olson had another shutdown 9thinning, striking out the side for his 2ndwin of the season.
