The contest was marked by a pair of excellent starting performances as Helcris Olivarez matched All-Star Miguel Medrano pitch for pitch in route to his first shutout performance away from Suplizio Field.

Behind their southpaw dealing five shutout frames and five strikeouts, the Rockies left six men on and went 0-6 with runners in scoring position.

In the seventh, Billings broke through against reliever Anderson Pilar as the Mustangs scored four on a two-run single from T.J. Hopkins and a two-run double from Eric Yang to make it 4-0.

With two more in the bottom of the eighth via Reyny Reyes's two-run double, Ryan Dunne and Frainger Aranguren combined to complete the shutout allowing just two walks and striking out three to secure the 6-0 win.

Pilar took his second loss of the season after allowing four earned over 1.2 innings while Dunne earned his second win of the season with three punch outs.

The Rockies will return to Dehler Park for game two tomorrow looking to end their three-game losing streak.
