
Rox Plate Six in Game One Versus Thunder Bay - Series Continues at Home Tomorrow

ST. CLOUD, MN - The St. Cloud Rox (9-4) dropped Game One against the Thunder Bay Border Cats (5-6), with a 8-6 final score, Saturday, June 10th. They sit in 2ndplace in the Great Plains West division, one game behind the Willmar Stingers (9-2).
The final pitcher of the day for the Rox was Brandon Jaenke (Viterbo), his 5thappearance of the season. Jaenke went 1.0 inning in relief, taking the mound for the top of the 10thinning. Jaenke struck out three of the seven batters he faced.
Ben Vujovich (St. Thomas) reached base three times in game one of the series, with two hits and a walk. He scored for St. Cloud in the 5thinning. Ripken Reese (Kent State) gave the Rox their largest lead of the evening in the 5th inning, sending two runs home with an RBI single. Weber Neels (Minnesota) carried a hot bat, with two hits on the day, including an RBI single that sent the first two runs of the day home.
Aidan Kidd (NJIT) started the day on the mound for St. Cloud and continued to have success, giving up just an earned run over 5.0 innings pitched. Kidd struck out two batters, raising his season total to 11. Evan Esch (St. Thomas) was first out of the bullpen, throwing 2.0 shutout innings with two strikeouts. Alex Ramos (Golden West College) and Jake Burcham (Tarleton State) combined to throw 2.0 innings with two strikeouts.

The Rox return to the Rock Pile tomorrow - Sunday, June 11th, for a 4:05 pm first pitch against the Thunder Bay Border Cats. There will be a baseball giveaway for the first 250 kids, celebrating the 75th anniversary of Voigt's Bus Service!
