Round Rock Express News Release

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Round Rock Express outfielder Drew Locke was named Pacific Coast League Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. Locke is the second Express member so honored this season; Chris Johnson picked up the weekly accolade May 24.

In seven games during the week ending Aug. 22, Locke hit .500 (11-for-22) with two home runs, seven RBI, five doubles and a stolen base. He drew eight walks against only one strikeout and scored at least one run in each game. Locke also led the Express to a four-game series sweep at Portland; it was the club's first road series sweep since April 21-24, 2006, at Iowa and only the third road sweep since the Express joined Triple-A in 2005.

Locke is hitting .418 (23-for-55) in his last 14 games and .469 (15-for-32) in his last nine games. He enters Monday night's game tied for third in the PCL with 34 doubles, which ranks as the fifth-best season total in Round Rock's Triple-A history. Locke also ranks high in three other Express Triple-A history charts: seventh in RBI (73), seventh in extra-base hits (55) and tied for seventh in total bases (218).

Round Rock continues its third home stand of the season Monday, opening a four-game series against the Las Vegas 51s (Toronto Blue Jays). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CDT at The Dell Diamond.
